Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Manager – Procurement to lead the Procurement function and ensure the timely availability of quality materials at the right cost while supporting business continuity, production requirements, and customer commitments. The successful candidate will provide strategic and operational leadership across sourcing, supplier management, commercial negotiations, material planning, inventory optimization, import procurement, cost reduction initiatives, procurement risk management, and team development. This role is ideal for a procurement professional who combines strong commercial acumen with strategic thinking and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with business, production, customer, and financial objectives.
• Lead local and overseas supplier sourcing, evaluation, development, and performance management activities.
• Build and maintain a competitive and reliable supplier base, including alternative sources for critical materials.
• Lead commercial negotiations covering pricing, minimum order quantities, payment terms, lead times, freight arrangements, and other commercial conditions.
• Review procurement requirements against production plans, forecasts, inventory levels, open purchase orders, and material lead times.
• Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted production and on-time customer deliveries.
• Oversee purchase order governance and ensure procurement activities comply with approved policies, procedures, and authority limits.
• Lead imported material procurement and coordinate with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, shipping agents, clearing agents, and internal stakeholders.
• Review freight options, import duties, taxes, clearing charges, and landed cost structures.
• Drive inventory optimization and reduce excess, slow-moving, obsolete, and non-moving inventory.
• Monitor MOQ-related inventory exposure and implement strategies to minimize unnecessary stock holding.
• Establish and monitor supplier performance against quality, cost, delivery, responsiveness, and compliance criteria.
• Lead supplier corrective actions and resolution of material quality and delivery issues.
• Ensure procurement activities comply with customer requirements, certifications, and regulatory obligations.
• Oversee TIEP-related procurement activities, chemical procurement requirements, licensing, and approvals.
• Identify procurement and supply chain risks and implement sourcing alternatives and contingency plans.
• Drive annual procurement cost reduction and value improvement initiatives through strategic sourcing, negotiation, freight optimization, alternative suppliers, and process improvements.
• Prepare procurement performance reports covering supplier performance, inventory, costs, material availability, and procurement risk management.
• Lead and develop the Procurement team through objective setting, coaching, mentoring, and capability building.
• Drive procurement digitalization, analytics, process improvements, and operational efficiency initiatives.
• Represent the Procurement function in management and cross-functional meetings while providing commercially sound recommendations.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Management, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Professional qualifications in Procurement, Logistics, or Supply Chain Management will be an advantage.
• An MBA or postgraduate qualification will be considered an added advantage.
• 8–10 years of relevant experience in Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Material Management, or a similar function.
• Strong experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred.
• Proven experience managing both local and international supplier networks.
• Strong commercial negotiation experience with a proven track record of cost reduction.
• Experience handling import procurement, freight management, and landed cost analysis.
• Strong knowledge of inventory planning, material planning, and supply continuity management.
• Experience leading and developing procurement teams.
• Excellent analytical, commercial, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong supplier relationship and performance management capabilities.
• Good understanding of procurement risk management and business continuity planning.
• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel, ERP systems, and procurement analytics.
• Strong stakeholder management, leadership, and communication skills.
• Results-oriented mindset with a focus on operational excellence and continuous improvement.
