Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations (F&O) Performance Tester to support a large-scale Microsoft Dynamics 365 F&O implementation programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, designing, executing, and analyzing performance, scalability, load, stress, and endurance testing activities across the D365 F&O environment. This role requires strong expertise in D365 Finance & Operations architecture, business processes, integrations, batch processing, and performance optimization to ensure the solution is capable of supporting expected user volumes and transaction loads before go-live. The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with Functional Consultants, Solution Architects, Developers, Infrastructure Teams, Integration Teams, and Project Managers to proactively identify performance bottlenecks and support performance optimization initiatives.  

Key Responsibilities 

Performance Test Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and maintain the overall D365 F&O Performance Testing Strategy and Test Plan.
  • Analyze business transaction volumes, user workloads, concurrency requirements, and peak system demands.
  • Identify critical business processes requiring performance validation.
  • Define performance objectives, SLAs, response time targets, throughput requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Establish performance testing environments, test data requirements, execution schedules, and reporting mechanisms.
  • Ensure performance testing is embedded throughout the ERP implementation lifecycle.

Performance Test Design & Execution

  • Design and execute load, stress, scalability, endurance, and performance test scenarios.
  • Develop realistic workload models based on actual business operations.
  • Validate high-volume business processes including sales orders, invoicing, purchasing, inventory management, warehouse transactions, manufacturing operations, financial postings, planning, MRP, reporting, data imports, exports, and integrations.
  • Execute tests using varying transaction volumes and concurrent user loads.
  • Conduct baseline testing, comparative testing, and regression performance testing throughout project phases.

D365 Finance & Operations Performance Testing

  • Analyze application performance across forms, workspaces, transactions, and business processes.
  • Assess batch processing performance, batch chains, and scheduled jobs.
  • Validate system behavior under realistic production-scale data volumes.
  • Evaluate performance impacts of large master data and transactional datasets.
  • Test and validate customizations, extensions, and X++ developments.
  • Support performance testing of integrations, APIs, middleware platforms, and external systems.

Integration & End-to-End Performance Validation

  • Design end-to-end performance testing scenarios involving D365 F&O and connected systems.
  • Assess API, middleware, integration service, and data entity performance.
  • Measure throughput, latency, success rates, and processing times across integrations.
  • Identify integration bottlenecks and recommend corrective actions.
  • Support enterprise-wide performance testing across D365, Azure, and supporting technologies.

Monitoring, Analysis & Optimization

  • Monitor application and infrastructure performance during test execution.
  • Analyze response times, throughput, resource utilization, CPU, memory, and database performance.
  • Utilize Lifecycle Services (LCS), Azure monitoring tools, Application Insights, Azure Monitor, and related technologies to investigate performance issues.
  • Perform root cause analysis and correlate application issues with database, infrastructure, integration, or batch-processing bottlenecks.
  • Provide optimization recommendations to improve overall system performance.

Defect Management & Reporting

  • Record, investigate, prioritize, and track performance-related defects.
  • Provide detailed evidence and recommendations to development and architecture teams.
  • Validate performance improvements following fixes and optimization exercises.
  • Produce detailed performance testing reports, dashboards, and executive summaries.
  • Support go-live readiness assessments and performance sign-offs.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 3+ years of experience in Performance Testing, preferably with strong exposure to Microsoft Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations environments.
  • Hands-on experience supporting D365 F&O implementation or transformation programmes.
  • Strong understanding of D365 F&O architecture, business processes, and batch processing.
  • Experience testing D365 F&O customizations, integrations, and high-volume transactional environments.
  • Good understanding of Lifecycle Services (LCS) and D365 F&O environment management.
  • Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, LoadRunner, LoadRunner Enterprise, NeoLoad, BlazeMeter, or equivalent platforms.
  • Experience designing workload models and concurrent user simulations.
  • Strong knowledge of load testing, stress testing, endurance testing, and scalability testing methodologies.
  • Experience working with REST APIs, web services, and integration testing under load.
  • Strong database and SQL performance analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of Azure cloud services and cloud-based enterprise architectures.
  • Experience using monitoring and application performance analysis tools.
  • Understanding of CI/CD pipelines, DevOps processes, and performance automation frameworks.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to convert technical performance findings into actionable business recommendations.

Preferred Experience

  • D365 F&O implementations involving large transaction volumes and multiple legal entities.
  • Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Warehouse Management, or Retail industry experience.
  • Advanced Warehouse Management (WMS) performance testing.
  • MRP and Planning performance validation.
  • Large-scale data migration and data-volume performance testing.
  • Azure Application Insights, Azure Monitor, or related monitoring platforms.
  • Microsoft FastTrack implementation exposure.
  • Agile/Scrum delivery experience.

Preferred Certifications

  • ISTQB Performance Testing Certification.
  • Microsoft Dynamics 365 Certifications.
  • Microsoft Azure Certifications.
