Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly motivated and technically strong Automation Engineer to support automation, controls, and electrical engineering projects within a world-class manufacturing environment. The successful candidate will be responsible for automation system design, feasibility studies, risk analysis, equipment validation, industrial robustness, controls engineering, and project execution while ensuring compliance with engineering standards and operational requirements. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on advanced industrial automation systems, PLC programming, robotics, motion control technologies, and manufacturing process improvements while contributing to operational excellence and innovation. 

Key Responsibilities

• Support the implementation of quality systems, engineering methods, risk assessments, FMEA activities, design reviews, quality planning, and non-conformance management processes.
• Conduct feasibility studies and assess multiple engineering solutions considering cost, schedule, operational requirements, risks, and performance criteria.
• Develop, implement, and monitor action plans relating to engineering risk management, testing, simulation, calculations, and validations.
• Design and implement automation and electrical engineering solutions in collaboration with cross-functional teams and technical stakeholders.
• Participate in equipment realization, installation, commissioning, start-up, validation, and performance development activities.
• Ensure successful validation and qualification of automation systems while demonstrating industrial robustness and operational reliability.
• Support the processing of engineering change requests, equipment upgrades, obsolescence management, and compliance requirements.
• Maintain engineering documentation and technical records relating to automation systems and manufacturing equipment.
• Support innovation initiatives and contribute to intellectual property activities when required.
• Collaborate closely with maintenance, production, engineering, and project teams to improve automation performance and operational efficiency.
• Provide technical support for troubleshooting and continuous improvement of automation systems.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or an equivalent qualification from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in Automation Engineering or Electrical Engineering. Experience as a Project Leader or in a project support role will be advantageous.
• Strong proficiency in PLC programming standards and automation software platforms.
• Hands-on experience with Rockwell (Allen-Bradley) and exposure to Siemens automation systems will be advantageous.
• Strong expertise in HMI programming, configurations, communications, and automation interfaces.
• Experience with Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and Motion Control technologies including Rockwell, Siemens, and Control Techniques platforms.
• Hands-on experience in robotics maintenance, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Good understanding of industrial engineering standards, regulations, and best practices.
• Knowledge of hydraulic systems and industrial machinery operations will be an added advantage.
• Strong project management, leadership, teamwork, and organizational capabilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint, and Teams.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary engineering and manufacturing environment.

Preferred Certifications

• Project Management qualifications will be an added advantage.
• Industrial Automation certifications will be beneficial.
• PLC Programming certifications will be considered an advantage.
