Inventory Manager role involves overseeing both finished goods and raw materials, ensuring accurate stock levels through proper cash sheet entry, receipt, issuance, and tracking. This role also entails collaborating with various departments to align production schedules, logistics needs, financial reporting, stock reconciliation and supporting overall business operations.

Responsibilities

* Leveraging sales forecasts and inventory data, maintain ideal stock balance, ensuring efficient order fulfillment and minimizing stockouts or overstocking.

* Manage the deployment plan to fulfill customer orders while optimizing warehouse space and minimizing costs.

* Resolve issues related to stock availability and system discrepancies.

* Assist with master data management and ensure the inventory database is accurate and readily available.

* Provide timely updates on daily and weekly inventory reports (e.g., stock on hand, aging, cycle counts, reconciliation, etc.).

* Verify data entry reports completed by the inventory team, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

* Leas stock count activities, stock adjustment and reconciliation.

* Conducting weekly inspections of warehouse facilities to maintain safety and operational standards.

* This role involves overseeing daily staff tasks, attendance, and scheduling, including managing holiday and leave coverage.

 Requirements

* Skilled in managing and developing staff, setting clear expectations, providing mentorship, and fostering a positive, performance-driven culture.

* Ability to analyze data from multiple sources, identify trends, and make informed decisions to optimize inventory and warehouse operations.

*  Precision in managing inventory data and ensuring accuracy in system transactions.

* Proactively identify and resolve issues related to inventory discrepancies, warehouse layout, and system performance.

*  Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally.

* Ability to manage and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced, dynamic environment, while being open to continuous learning and process changes.

*  A commitment to continuous improvement, seeking out opportunities to enhance inventory management and warehouse operations.

* Proficient in using inventory management systems to track stock levels, process transactions, and ensure accurate and timely data management.

Position Qualifications 

*  Bachelors degree/Diploma in supply chain/Operations Management/Finance/Accounting with a minimum of 3 years experience in a FMCG environment and warehouse operations.

* Location: Pettah, Colombo

* Microsoft Office Tools and Warehouse Management System

* Proficiency in written and spoken English

* Willing to adapt to a fast moving and changing working environment.

* Reports directly to the General Manager. Self-motivated with minimal supervision and able to work as a good team player and leadership.
