SENIOR ACCOUNTANT (Australian CALENDAR - SL SHIFT)

The Job:

• Manage & perform day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks (tax returns and financials).
• Review and approve complex tax returns for individuals, companies, partnerships, and trusts, ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations.
• Provide expert advice and solutions on intricate tax matters.
• Oversee FBT compliance, including the preparation of returns and strategic advice on minimizing FBT liabilities.
• Manage Div 7A compliance requirements, including calculations and advising on shareholder loans and payments.
• Lead CGT calculations and strategies, including advising on asset disposals, exemptions, and concessions to optimize tax outcomes.
• Drive year-end closing processes, including the preparation of adjustment journals, financial statements, and liaison with auditors.
• Develop and implement accounting policies, procedures, and controls to ensure compliance and efficiency.
• Mentor and train junior accountants, providing guidance and professional development opportunities.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance or professional qualification such as CA, CPA, or CIMA.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in Australian tax.
• Provide expert tax advisory services and ensure compliance with Australian tax regulations.
• Utilize accounting software (Xero, MYOB, QB) to manage and streamline accounting processes.
• Proficient in Excel with strong analytical skills.
• Collaborate with clients to understand their needs and deliver tailored solutions.
• Continuously improve internal processes to enhance efficiency and client service.
• Excellent planning, organizational, and prioritization abilities.
