Job Summary:

We are looking for a skilled and motivated Machine Learning Engineer to design, develop, and implement AI/ML-driven solutions within the banking and financial services sector. This role focuses on key initiatives such as fraud detection, credit risk modeling, customer personalization, and predictive analytics to drive digital transformation and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

• Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to identify financial sector challenges (e.g., fraud, credit risk, AML) and build AI/ML-based solutions.
• Apply machine learning and statistical models to both structured and unstructured financial data.
• Design and deploy scalable ML models for banking systems, digital channels, and payment platforms.
• Build and manage end-to-end ML pipelines (data cleaning, feature engineering, model training, deployment, and monitoring).
• Ensure compliance with financial regulations (e.g., CBSL, GDPR, PSD2) and maintain data governance standards.
• Monitor model performance, conduct A/B testing, and retrain models to improve accuracy and relevance.
• Collaborate with DevOps/MLOps teams to implement CI/CD for ML models in production environments.

Applicant Profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, or a related field.
• master's degree or certification in AI/ML or Data Analytics is an added advantage.
• Minimum 4+ years of experience in machine learning solution development.
• Proven track record in banking, fintech, or financial analytics projects.
• At least 2 years' experience in production-level model deployment and API integration.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn.
• Strong skills in data manipulation using Pandas, NumPy, and experience with SQL/NoSQL databases.
• Experience working with large-scale financial datasets and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
• Familiarity with containerization and deployment tools (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Hands-on knowledge of MLOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.
• Understanding of banking systems, credit scoring, fraud analytics, and regulatory standards.
• Strong problem-solving and analytical thinking.
• Ability to effectively communicate with stakeholders and translate business needs into ML models.
• Commitment to ethical AI practices and compliance with data privacy regulations.
