The Job Role
- Area Sales Manager - Colombo Area
- Achieve sales and collection targets for both individual and the team.
- Efficiently manage the tertiary as demarcated to ensure all tasks are executed in minimal time.
- Monitor all stocks with respective dealers/Sub Distributors and administer sales orders.
- Obtain weekly age analysis of all debtors/Sub Distributors, monitor, and collect within the specified time to avoid bad debts.
- Follow-up on all bank guarantees/cash deposits or any other securities and renew/enhance them to minimize credit exposure.
- Ensure all cheques collected are handed over to accounts with proper acknowledgment.
- Inform the Sales Manager and accounts staff of cash deposits made by dealers for account updates.
- Properly inspect, justify, and report all market returns to the company.
- Gather information about competitors, their activities, new markets, and apprise management. Seek prior approval on all tour plans from the National Sales Manager (NSM).
- Seek advice on daily activities from the NSM.
- Identify training and development requirements of reporting employees and take necessary action to fulfill them.
- Settle all expenses/IOUs within a fortnight.
- Submit weekly sales reports, marketing intelligence reports, tour itineraries, and market returns to NSM.
- Submit fortnightly expense settlements and monthly sales reports to NSM.
Skills and Experienced Required
- Diploma in sales or marketing, with a course specializing in Lubricants.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a similar role and position within the Lubricants industry.
- Working knowledge of ERP systems, preferably in a sales or distribution context.
