Job Profile: Technical Head Software Development

Reporting To: Head of Software Solutions

Department: Software Development

Role Overview:

The Technical Head Software Development is responsible for leading the software development function, driving technical strategy, ensuring high-quality software solutions, and overseeing the development lifecycle. This role requires a strong technical background, leadership skills, and the ability to align technology with business goals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Define and implement the software development roadmap in alignment with the companys strategic goals.

• Stay updated with emerging technologies and best practices to enhance software development processes.

• Ensure architectural integrity, scalability, and security of software solutions.

• Lead, mentor, and manage the software development team, fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

• Conduct regular performance evaluations and facilitate professional development programs.

• Ensure effective collaboration between development, QA, and other teams.

• Oversee the end-to-end software development lifecycle, from requirement gathering to deployment.

• Ensure timely delivery of high-quality, scalable, and secure software solutions.

• Optimize development processes, ensuring efficiency and adherence to best practices.

• Implement software development methodologies (Agile, DevOps, etc.) to streamline operations.

• Define coding standards, development best practices, and quality assurance processes.

• Conduct code reviews, risk assessments, and performance optimization.

• Work closely with business leaders, product managers, and other stakeholders to define technical requirements and deliver solutions.

• Collaborate with clients, ensuring their technical needs and expectations are met.

• Provide technical insights for decision-making at the leadership level.

• Oversee cloud infrastructure, databases, and application security.

• Implement cybersecurity measures to safeguard software applications and data.

• Ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Required Qualifications & Experience:

• Bachelors/Masters degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.

• 6+ years of experience in software development, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

• Expertise in software architecture, development frameworks, and programming languages (e.g., Java, .NET, Python, etc.).

• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and DevOps practices.

• Strong knowledge of Agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and modern software development practices.

• Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
