Requirements:

* Bachelor's Degree in Marketing Management from a reputed University.

* Part / Full qualification in CIM / SLIM would be an added advantage.

* Minimum 02-03 years of experience in category management.

* Strong understanding of research methodologies.

* Strong understanding of category management, product profitability analysis, product design and development methodologies

* Strong understanding of brand building, advertising, and digital media usage.

* Analytical skills and data-driven thinking.

* Project management skills.

* Excellent presentation and communication skills.

* Sales performance of the designated category/categories

* Profitability of the assigned category / categories

* Inventory and range management and product life cycle management

* Pricing and costing

* Marketing and promotional effectiveness


Tasks and Responsibilities:

  1. Category Strategy Development: facilitate the development of the categories under his purview in alignment with the company's overall business objectives. This involves analyzing market trends, customer behavior, and competitor actions to identify growth opportunities.
  1. Pricing and Profitability: responsible for setting pricing strategies for the category to maximize profitability while ensuring competitiveness. This involves monitoring costs, margins, and other financial KPIs to ensure the category performs well financially.
  1. Product Selection and Lifecycle Management: decide which products to offer within the category, manage product launches, and oversee the lifecycle of each product. This includes adding new products and phasing out underperforming ones.
  1. Inventory Management: Ensuring optimal stock levels is a key part of the role. Work closely with the supply chain or inventory teams to maintain the right balance between stock availability and cost efficiency.
  1. Market and Consumer Analysis: continually assess market conditions, consumer preferences, and industry trends. Use this data to make informed decisions on assortment, promotions, and product development.
  1. Inventory Management: Ensuring optimal stock levels is a key part of the role. Work closely with the supply chain or inventory teams to maintain the right balance between stock availability and cost efficiency.
  1. Marketing & Promotions: Ensure the brands/sub-brands under their purview is promoted effectively to ensure brand equity is grown strategically
