WE ARE HIRING: Manager - R & I (Time Lab)

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day operations of the Sri Lanka R&I Team, ensuring alignment with strategic plans.

• Build, mentor, and lead the R&I team, fostering a culture of honesty, transparency, creativity, and collaboration.

• Manage the R&I budget and allocate resources effectively to maximize project impact and ROI.

• Maintain relationships with external customers, partners, vendors, and key stakeholders related to R&I projects.

• Collaborate with Sales, Operations, Manufacturing Innovation, Supply Chain, Yarn, Growth, Sustainability, Communications, and other departments to integrate innovative solutions.

• Focus on sustainability in evaluating new products, machinery, and processes.

• Oversee the ideation, development, testing, and implementation of new products and innovations from concept to commercialisation.

• Promote new thinking and explore external growth opportunities and customer relationships in Sri Lanka.

• Understand technology requirements for new projects and develop innovative approaches to resolve technical challenges.

• Follow innovation protocols and carry out experiments, trials, and sample production with relevant departments.

• Collaborate with universities, technology partners, and suppliers to introduce new technologies and products.

• Work with product and design teams to support commercialised projects and introduce innovations to internal sales teams and customers.

• Collaborate with the Manufacturing Innovation team for smooth adoption of new technology and innovations.

Requirements:

• Educational Qualification:

  • A degree in a textile or scientific-related field.

• Professional Experience:

  • Minimum 8 years of experience in product/innovation development within the textile or related industries.

  • In-depth knowledge of relevant industry processes.

• Personal Characteristics / Skills:

  • Knowledge in knitting and weaving.

  • Experience working in complex, multi-cultural business environments.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proven ability to work across all levels of the business.

  • Proficiency in Office 365.

  • Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills.
