Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in law, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field. A master degree or legal qualification (LLB/LLM) is an advantage.
- Minimum of 5-7 years of experience managing complex contracts, ideally within the renewable energy, infrastructure, or construction sectors.
- Proven experience in handling lease agreements, EPC contracts, O&M agreements, and project finance documentation, particularly in a multi-stakeholder environment.
- Strong understanding of local legal frameworks, especially in the context of energy projects and public-private partnerships.
- Exceptional negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple complex contracts simultaneously.
- Strong attention to detail, with a proactive approach to risk management and problem-solving.
- Capable in project management software for project tracking and regular reporting
- Experience in the Sri Lankan or South Asian energy market is highly desirable.
Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage all contractual agreements related to a large-scale Distributed Generation (DG) solar rollout in Sri Lanka, including but not limited to:
- Lease agreements with provincial governments, focusing on revenue-sharing models and installation deadlines.
- Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contracts for solar project development.
- Operations & Maintenance (O&M) agreements ensuring long-term project performance.
- Asset Management Agreements (AMA) for ongoing project monitoring and stakeholder coordination.
- Project finance facility term sheets, ensuring alignment with financial structuring and debt facilities.
- Negotiate and manage contract amendments, variations, and extensions in collaboration with legal and financial teams.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including government entities, contractors, and financiers, to ensure smooth execution of contractual obligations.
- Monitor and track key contractual milestones, risks, and performance metrics, providing regular updates to senior management.
- Resolve any disputes or issues arising from contract performance, ensuring amicable and cost-effective solutions.
- Ensure that all contracts adhere to local legal and regulatory requirements, particularly regarding renewable energy, public-private partnerships, and financing structures.
