Job Description

  • We seek a skilled Digital Marketing Manager to lead our digital strategy, enhance our brand visibility, and generate leads globally.
  • B2B food ingredients market. Based in Colombo, you'll oversee our websites, optimize SEO, and execute campaigns that resonate.
  • With industry professionals. This role blends creativity, technical expertise, and a results-driven mindset.
  • Reporting to the European Managing Director and Technical Director.

Key Responsibilities

  • Digital Strategy: Develop and implement a comprehensive digital marketing strategy and plan to boost brand awareness and drive lead generation for sector-specific B2B audiences worldwide.
  • SEO: Optimize website content, structure, backlink profile (including Digital PR, guest posts, niche edits, etc,) and performance to improve organic search rankings on Google and other engines, targeting food industry keywords.
  • Web Management: Oversee design, updates, and functionality of our websites using platforms like Laravel and Shopify.
  • Content Creation: Collaborate with internal teams to produce engaging content (blogs, case studies, landing pages) tailored to food ingredient buyers.
  • Campaign Execution: Manage paid acquisition campaigns (e.g., Google Ads, LinkedIn) and monitor analytics to maximize ROI.
  • Email/CRM Marketing: Deliver broadcast and automation campaigns to drive new customer acquisition and retention.
  • Analytics & Reporting: Track KPls (traffic, engagement, conversions, bounce rates, etc.) using tools like Google Analytics and provide actionable insights to leadership.
  • Social Media: Amplify our presence on platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram, ensuring consistent messaging, follower growth, engagement, and traffic to the website.
  • Collaboration: Work with global sales and product teams to align digital efforts with business goals.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years in digital marketing, ideally in a B2B food-related industry.
  • Technical Expertise:
  1. Core Skills
  • Proven ability to deliver B2B marketing strategies that deliver commercial impact.
  • Proven ability to deliver paid, owned, and earned media campaigns to drive customer acquisition and retention successfully with strong ROI.
  • Proven experience in managing third-party suppliers (SEO, design, development, content, etc.)
  • Proven knowledge of SEO best practices (on-page, off-page, technical) to work in conjunction with SEO agencies.
  • Excellent communicator, both in your ability to communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, and your ability to write compelling marketing copy.
  • Strong Spreadsheets, especially Google Sheets.
  • WhatsApp for B2B Marketing Communication (via bird.com CRM).

2. Other Skills preferred

  • Laravel Nova (basic understanding of PHP frameworks for web development).
  • Shopify for e-commerce elements (e.g., product pages, integrations).
  • SAP (which we used for our Business Process and will link into the e-commerce operation).

3. Education: Bachelor's degree in marketing, IT, or a related field (or equivalent experience).

4. Analytical Skills: Comfortable with Google Analytics, Search Console, and campaign tracking tools.

5. Communication: Fluent in English (written and spoken) to engage international stakeholders.
