WE ARE HIRING: Legal Officer
RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provide legal advice and support on employment and labour law matters.

Advise on the legal implications of HR policies and practices.

Represent the organization in labour disputes, negotiations, and litigation.
-
Coordinate with external legal counsel as necessary.
-
Draft, review, and negotiate employment contracts, separation agreements, and other HR-related legal documents.
-
Ensure compliance of contracts with applicable laws and internal policies.
-
Assist in conducting internal investigations related to employee misconduct and workplace issues.
-
Prepare reports and recommendations based on findings from investigations.
-
Identify and assess legal risks related to HR policies and practices.
-
Maintain confidential legal records and documentation.
-
Coordinate with the Legal Department of the Central Bank of Sri Lanka as needed.
REQUIREMENTS:
Educational Qualifications:
-
Bachelor of Laws (LLB) degree with:
-
First Class or Second Class Upper Division, or
-
Minimum 3.5 GPA out of 4.0, or
-
Minimum 75% Weighted Average Marks from a UGC-recognized university.
OR
-
-
First Class Honours in the Attorney-at-Law final examination.
OR
-
Master of Laws (LLM) degree from a UGC-recognized local or foreign university.
Experience:
-
Minimum 5 years of experience in labour law matters in:
-
A registered law firm, or
-
A reputed organization, or
-
A government/financial sector institution.

Experience should include:
-
Drafting and reviewing employment contracts,
-
Dispute resolution and litigation management,
-
Disciplinary inquiries, terminations, and HR policy handling.

Skills & Competencies:
-
Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Sinhala.
-
In-depth knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations.
-
Strong negotiation and analytical skills.
-
Legal documentation and compliance proficiency.
-
High integrity, sound decision-making ability.
-
Team collaboration, adaptability, and resilience.
Other:

Must sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) due to handling sensitive information.

Age Limit: Not more than 45 years as of 27.05.2025.

Remuneration: Negotiable.
-
Appointment Type: Contract basis (up to 3 years).

Preferred Starting Date: Immediately.
