Job Title: New Product Development Executive

Job Profile:

• Innovate new products, enhance existing ones, and lead product redesigns.
• Research the product provided by the marketing team, develop an understanding of its potential in the kitchen, and assess its feasibility to meet requirements.
• Provide expert advice and guidance to product development teams on recipe formulation, ingredient interactions, and baking conditions to ensure product quality and consistency.
• Identify the capabilities of the current processes and machinery, and if ineffective, determine the type of supplier required to meet necessary specifications.
• Address and solve problems related to recipe formulation, ingredient interactions, and baking conditions, providing timely solutions.
• Assist with ongoing product improvements and resolve issues in existing products.
• Provide expert knowledge to existing suppliers and enhance supplier capabilities.
• Collaborate with the supply chain to develop new suppliers, ensuring alternative options are available if current suppliers cannot meet requirements.

Candidate Profile:

• Minimum 2 years of working experience in a food manufacturing, pastry, or baking-related industry.
• Proven experience in new product development within the food or baking industry.
• A bachelor's degree in food science along with a diploma/experience in baking is highly advantageous.
• Good communication skills in Sinhala & English.
