Manager Business Development is responsible for driving revenue growth and expanding market presence
through strategic business development initiatives within the investment industry. He / She should identify and
pursue new business opportunities, cultivating relationships with institutional clients and investors, and promoting
the organizations suite of securities investment products.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve revenue targets and market expansion goals.
- Introduce new institutional & individual investors and expand the company portfolio.
- Analyze market trends, competitor activities, and client feedback to refine business development strategies and capitalize on growth opportunities.
- Collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to align business development strategies with sales objectives and promotional campaigns.
- Ensure timely follow-up on investor inquiries, requests, and transactions to maintain high levels of investor satisfaction and retention.
- Generate revenue to meet and exceed budget.
- Manage expenses within approved budget.
- Build and maintain strong relationships to understand client investment needs, preferences, and risk profiles to recommend suitable securities investment solutions.
- Act as a trusted advisor, providing insightful market commentary, investment ideas, and customized portfolio strategies to investors.
- Keep up to date on market dynamics to advise clients effectively.
- Build trust through transparent and fair dealings.
- Conduct market research and analysis to identify emerging trends, market opportunities, and client investment preferences.
- Keep abreast of regulatory requirements governing equity markets.
- Conduct training and knowledge sharing with business development executives and other staff.
- Provide other functions with support beyond the scope of responsibilities in order to achieve common organizational goals
- Undertake any other tasks assigned by the line manager.
Requirements:
- Degree in Sales and Marketing/Economics/Related Field (master's degree or MBA preferred).
- A professional qualification in marketing (e.g. CIM)
- Proficiency in English, Sinhala and/ or Tamil
- Proficient in MS Office Applications
- Sales and marketing acumen
- Excellent understanding of financial markets, investment strategies, and regulatory compliance requirements.
- Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
- Over 5 years of experience with proven record in business development in the financial services industry.( capital marketing / Investment )
