Systems Administrator (IT Support)

Working Days:  Monday - Friday 8.30 t0 5.30 & Saturday 8.30am  to 13.30 (flexible)

Work location : Colombo Sri Lanka

Working type: On site

Salary - negotiable (Market Rate)


Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide day-to-day technical assistance to the staff.
• Install and maintaining existing servers and configure hardware, peripherals, services, settings, directories, storage, etc. in accordance with standard of the organization.
• Install, configure, and support the organization's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN) of the network system.
• Knowledge of CISCO switches and routers, PfSense load balancer, Checkpoint and WatchGuard Firewalls.
• Perform daily backup operations, ensuring all required file systems and system data are successfully backed up to the appropriate media.
• Repair and recover from hardware or software failures. Coordinate and communicate with vendors.
• Maintaining VPN from local ISP.
• Install & Maintain Windows XP, 7, 10 & 11 and Server Operating systems (Windows and Linux) and Microsoft Products.
• Diagnose/Solve Hardware & Software related problem on Desktops and Laptops and Network Devices.
• Diagnose/Solve Hardware & Software on Servers and Virtual Machines (Orvit).
• Maintain server operational configuration and other Domain and File servers.
• Perform ongoing performance tuning, hardware upgrades, and resource optimization as required. Configure CPU, memory, and disk partitions as required.
• Maintain IT Inventory.

Competencies:

• Systems Administration/System Engineer certification Microsoft (MCSE) or Certification from CISCO (CCNA/CCNP).

Required skills and Experience:

• Diploma or Higher National Diploma in IT or similar qualification.
• Ability to work extended hours as and when required.
• Excellent communication skills, particularly Witten and spoken English and good interpersonal skills.

2 to 3 years of relevant working experience, including network administration, management of hardware and software platforms, telecommunications facilities, knowledge of Windows-based packages/application
