WE'RE HIRING: CLAIMS SPECIALIST

We are looking for a Claims Specialist / Contract Manager with expertise in FIDIC contracts and construction claims management to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of contract administration, dispute resolution, delay analysis, and quantum assessment.

Key Responsibilities

1. Contract Knowledge & Compliance

Strong understanding of FIDIC 1999 suite of contracts (Red, Yellow, Silver Book).
Ensure compliance with contract clauses related to claims, variations, delays, and dispute resolution/arbitration.
Monitor procedural requirements such as notice periods, documentation, and timelines.

2. Claims Identification & Preparation

Identify potential claim events (e.g., delays, variations, unforeseen conditions).
Gather supporting evidence, including site records, progress reports, and correspondence.
Quantify financial and time impacts, such as additional costs and disruption costs.

3. Submission & Negotiation of Claims

Draft and submit formal notices of claims as per Clause 20.
Engage in negotiations to reach amicable settlements with stakeholders.
Assist in evaluating and agreeing on variations, extensions of time (EOT), and additional payments.

4. Dispute Resolution & Risk Management

Refer disputes to the Dispute Adjudication Board (DAB).
Support arbitration preparation, drafting submissions, and working with legal counsel.
Identify risks early and ensure proper contract administration to minimize disputes.

5. Reporting & Documentation

Maintain accurate and comprehensive claim records.
Provide regular updates to project stakeholders on claim status and dispute resolution.

Additional Responsibilities

Review, draft, and negotiate construction contracts (FIDIC, NEC, JCT).
Ensure compliance with local and international construction laws and statutory requirements.
Provide legal advice on negotiation, mediation, arbitration, and litigation.
Analyze project delays, cost impacts, and variations.
Prepare expert reports on delay analysis and quantum assessment.
Train project teams on claims management and dispute avoidance.

Key Skills & Qualifications

Strong knowledge of FIDIC contract conditions and construction law.
Expertise in delay analysis methodologies (e.g., Time Impact Analysis, Windows Analysis).
Experience in quantum assessment, cost analysis, and damages calculation.
Excellent negotiation, communication, and analytical skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with legal teams, project teams, and experts.
