Department: Logistics / Operations

Location: Colombo , Sri Lanka

Reports To: Head of Logistics / Country Manager

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly experienced and proactive Operations and Logistics Manager to oversee and optimize our marine logistics operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for end-to-end logistics coordination, team leadership, vendor management, and system integrity, ensuring efficiency and accuracy across all supply chain functions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee daily logistics and operational activities, including equipment control and stock coordination.
• Forecast weekly demand and ensure accurate equipment planning to meet customer and operational requirements.
• Maintain and monitor internal systems to ensure data accuracy and resolve discrepancies between system and physical records.
• Communicate effectively with clients, vendors, and internal teams to resolve queries and provide high-level customer service.
• Track and assess agent EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) performance for compliance and efficiency.
• Coordinate with stakeholders to address 3P (Third-Party) damage issues, stock discrepancies, callouts, and lost equipment cases.
• Support vessel operations by preparing and submitting required reports to port authorities and planning teams.
• Manage logistics and operational budgets, including cost forecasting and expenditure tracking.
• Build and maintain strategic relationships with vendors and Vessel Sharing Agreement (VSA) partners.
• Prepare quotations and commercial offers, requiring a strong foundation in mathematical analysis.
• Lead, mentor, and train the logistics and operations team to improve performance and implement best practices.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Bachelors degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
• 5+ years of experience in logistics, operations, or supply chain management, preferably within the marine/shipping industry.
• Strong knowledge of EDI systems, shipping documentation, and logistics coordination.
• Experience in handling budgeting, cost analysis, and vendor relationship management.
• Proven leadership experience with the ability to train and develop teams.
• High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
