Requirements:

  • Minimum bachelor's degree or commensurate experience required with emphasis in Computer Science, Engineering or Information Systems Management.
  • Has a proven record in the full range of leadership skills.
  • Familiarity with ideas and models which help support team agility, effectiveness and efficiency, perhaps including but not limited to ideas and models like
  • Scrum, Kanban, Lean, LeSS (etc)
  • Excellent Communication skills; Understands, explains and presents complex technical ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences at all levels up to the highest in a persuasive and convincing manner.
  • Has a good understanding of the IT industry and the implications of emerging technologies and processes for the wider business environment.
  • The ability to guide a team successfully; resolving issues, encouraging full participation, promoting good morale, sharing credit for success, supporting staff and developing the team.
  • Builds strong strategic relationships with internal and external stakeholders (business and technical) demonstrating an understanding of the business aims and issues.
  • Able to direct the work of others.
  • Considers wider implications of the work of the team, promotes re-use, knowledge sharing, wider strategy and the long term benefits as well as immediate need.
  • Proven planning skills, able to understand estimates, task interdependencies and staff availability to create a workable delivery schedule with the Product
  • Owner and Delivery Manager.
  • Demonstrates a high level of professionalism, organization, self-motivation and a desire for self-improvement.
  • Has a thorough knowledge of roles, systems and processes within their own area; will be able to apply this knowledge in order to direct tasks.
  • Has a good understanding and familiarity with the full software development life cycle and different software development models.
  • Diplomatic and a willingness to engage with others, and listen and adopt views and ideas from a wide-range of sources.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Ensures the effectiveness and efficiency of the team.
  • Ensures that goals, scope, and product domain are understood by everyone on the Scrum Team as well as possible
  • Guides, but does not direct, the workload of the team, ensuring that work is spread as evenly as possible.
  • Provides advice, assistance and leadership in improving the quality of software development by working closely with the Product Owner and the team.
  • Takes the initiative to keep their skills up to date and to maintain an awareness of developments in agile processes and more generally in IT.
  • Advances the knowledge and/or exploitation of IT within the Organisation.
  • Brings about significant improvements and measurable business benefits by identifying, proposing, initiating and leading enhancement of existing approaches and processes.
  • Be a key participant in the Agile community.
  • Takes part in selection interviews, for team members and other Agile practitioners.
  • Mentors, coaches and otherwise helps develop team members.
  • Develops long-term strategic relationships with customers and partners; regularly
  • liaises with key business stakeholders ensuring that delivered services are appropriate to business need.
