Position: Accounts Executive
Work Hours:  8:00 AM to 5:30 PM
Location: Kelaniya (On Site)

Role Description
We are seeking a full-time, on-site Accounts Executive. The Accounts Executive will handle petty cash management, tax-related tasks, liaising with the IRD, and providing financial reports to assist in business decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage head office petty cash function and oversee the plant petty cash operations at 2 locations.
• Prepare and submit VAT/SVAT, Stamp Duty, WHT Returns, and relevant schedules on time.
• Maintain SVAT/VAT relevant returns and supporting documents.
• Engage with IRD over all types of tax assessments.
• Collect SVAT vouchers and issue them on a timely basis.
• Coordinate the submission of information for CIT quarterly and annual reports.
• Handle tax refunds and VAT deferment facilities with the IRD.
• Ensure on-time tax payments in line with IRD deadlines.
• Liaise with the corporate treasury team regarding weekly fund requirements and provide supporting documents.
• Assist in preparing monthly invoice listings and sales summaries for reporting.

Required Qualifications

• Experience working with the BOI, Customs, and IRD is mandatory.
• Knowledge of accounting software and hands-on experience with MS Excel.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Professional certification (e.g., CIMA, CA, ACCA) is required.

Key Skills - Must Have

• Proficiency in English and Sinhala.
• Ability to converse, understand, and maintain dialogue in English.
• Experience handling plant accountants.
• Strong negotiation and communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines (e.g., month-end).
