Detailed Roles and Responsibilities

Operations § Write clear and concise investment notes on selected stocks and industries. § Build and maintain detailed financial valuation models including fundamental and relative valuation techniques. § Monitor broad market movements and macro-economic variables and maintain relevant databases. § Research securities of target industries and companies to provide investment recommendation. § Collect and interpret company data to facilitate recommendations. § Conduct primary research from industry sources. § Financial modelling- develop and update data into proprietary financial models. § Develop and write research reports on the listings in the Colombo Stock Exchange towards publication. § Utilize financial models and valuation techniques to assess investment opportunities.

Financial

§ Monitor and analyze news, reports, market trends and data to provide insights into market dynamics and potential investment risks and opportunities. § Provide financial analysis to support investment decisions and portfolio management. § Performance tracking of stocks under the coverage universe by analyzing financial statements.

Customer 

§ Possess a deep understanding of a company's business and its associate sector / industry which enables the production of research reports. § On time delivery of research products. § Respond to client queries promptly.

Training &

Development § Maintain up-to-date knowledge of the developments in the financial services industry and current events. § Continuous professional development financial analysis, modeling, and investment research methodologies.

Secondary

responsibilities § Assist Manager Investment Research in guiding the team members to achieve superior excellence. § Provide other functions with support beyond the scope of responsibilities in order to achieve common organizational goals. § Any other responsibility assigned by the line manager.

4. Education, Skills and Experience

Education: § Bachelors Degree in relevant field. § CFA and/or MBA § CIMA/ACCA

Skills: § Presentation skills § Advanced Microsoft Office skills § Strong analytical skills with proficiency in financial modeling § Strong written and verbal communication skills

Experience: § 1-2 years experience in an equity research unit of a stock brokering/ Investment company.
