WE ARE HIRING : HR OFFICER
1. Working Hours: 8:30 am -4:30 pm (Monday to Friday) /9.00 am -5.00 pm (Saturday)
2. Working days : Monday-Friday
3. Working menthod: onsite, available on remotely Saturdays for emergencies and hours to be adjusted if needed
4. Location: Kapugama, Southern Province, Sri Lanka
Reporting to: HR Manager
Key responsibilities:
1. HR Management and Administration:
Support the HR Manager in various HR functions, including recruitment, payroll processing, and
administrative tasks.
Assist in the recruitment process by helping with job postings, screening candidates,
scheduling interviews, and maintaining candidate databases.
Aid in the onboarding process for new hires and volunteers, ensuring a smooth and
welcoming introduction to the organisation.
Support payroll operations, contributing to the accurate and timely processing of salaries and
benefits.
Help maintain employee records, ensuring compliance with legal and organisational
requirements.
Assist in coordinating and scheduling training sessions, ensuring all staff and volunteers are
up-to-date with necessary skills and knowledge.
Assist in the implementation of initiatives that support employee satisfaction and wellbeing
programs.
2. Employee Relations and Support:
Provide support in addressing employee inquiries, offering guidance on HR-related matters.
Assist the HR Manager in conducting performance appraisals and organising staff
development initiatives.
Help address and resolve workplace issues, contributing to a positive work environment.
Manage and oversee disciplinary actions in accordance with organisational policies and
legal requirements, ensuring fair and consistent handling of such matters.
3. Community and External Relations:
Assist in the administration and benchmarking of compensation and benefits packages.
Engage with local communities to promote our mission and values, particularly in
relation to recruitment and community involvement.
Work collaboratively with various teams to ensure a cohesive work environment that supports
the charitys goals.
Key Attributes:
- Must be fluent in both Sinhala and English.
- Minimum of 3 years of HR experience, preferably in a multinational team environment.
- Tech-savvy with proficiency in managing spreadsheets and using Google Suite or similar platforms.
- Capable of effectively working with both remote and onsite teams.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to take initiative and work independently.
- Self-motivated and proactive, with strong organisational skills.
- Passionate about animal welfare, particularly dogs.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
- Flexible and adaptable, able to thrive in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Must have a positive, can-do attitude even in the most difficult of moments.
- Must have experience in fast-moving, high-stress work environments.
- Must be flexible- the nature of our work is often unpredictable.
