Role Overview

We are looking for a competent and detail-oriented Senior Executive – Sales Support & Operations to support sales and operational activities within the freight forwarding sector. The role requires strong coordination skills, hands-on involvement in shipment tracking, documentation handling, and close collaboration with shippers, shipping lines, and internal stakeholders, while staying up to date with market and industry trends related to shipping lines and airlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Daily tracking of all pending transshipment sea export shipments (FCL / LCL) through tracking and tracing of containers and BLs via carriers web tracking systems.

• Coordinating with shippers and shipping lines, submitting SI (HBL/MBL) prior to EU/AMS BL cut-off times, requesting proof BL copies, checking accuracy of BLs, and collecting final OBLs/seaways upon shippers confirmation.

• Handling liner payments and customer invoicing.

• Creating jobs, updating MBL/HBL details, and receiving EDOs from carriers.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

• A degree or professional qualification in Sales.

Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in freight forwarding or shipping sales.

Preferred Skills / Other Qualifications

• Good presentation, communication, and negotiation skills in both Sinhala and English.

• Strong understanding of logistics operations and the freight industry, including products and services.

• Proficiency in computer applications such as MS Office, MS Word, and MS PowerPoint will be an added advantage.
