Job Title: Video Editor
Location: Southern Province, Sri Lanka

Primary Purpose of the Role:

We are looking for a passionate and creative Video Editor to capture, edit, and manage high-quality visual content that showcases our mission, impact, and daily operations. This role plays a crucial part in growing our digital presence and engaging audiences through compelling storytelling across platforms like YouTube and social media.

With several exciting projects and expansions ahead, we need a Video Editor who is eager to be part of our journey, helping the organization grow while maintaining our core values and standards. This role is not just about editing, its about storytelling, creativity, and making a real impact.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Content Creation & Editing

  • Capture engaging video content, including patient stories, team activities, and behind-the-scenes moments.
  • Edit high-quality videos optimized for YouTube and social media, ensuring compelling storytelling and professional production values.
  • Perform color correction, sound design, and visual effects to enhance video quality.
  • Create short-form content for platforms like Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok.

2. YouTube Channel Management

  • Oversee the YouTube channel, including uploading, optimizing titles, descriptions, and thumbnails.
  • Develop and implement strategies to grow viewership, engagement, and subscribers.
  • Research and apply best practices for video SEO and audience retention.
  • Track video performance analytics and suggest improvements based on insights.

3. General Media Support

  • Maintain an organized archive of video content and assets for future use.
  • Collaborate with the marketing team to develop campaign-specific content.
  • Assist in live streaming events, webinars, or special initiatives when required.
  • Ensure all content aligns with branding and messaging guidelines.

Key Attributes:

  • Passionate about animal welfare and using media to create awareness and impact. (Must love dogs)
    
  • Strong skills in video editing software (Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, or equivalent).
    
  • Experience in filming, including camera handling, lighting, and sound recording.
    
  • Basic knowledge of motion graphics and animation is a plus.
    
  • Understanding of YouTube algorithms and social media video trends.
    
  • Creative, detail-oriented, and able to work independently.
    
  • Strong team player with the ability to adapt to an unpredictable work environment.
