Job Overview

The Assistant Accountant will support the finance department with daily accounting tasks, financial reporting, and administrative duties. This role requires strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and proficiency in Microsoft Excel.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in preparing financial statements and management reports.

  • Maintain accurate accounts payable and receivable records.

  • Reconcile bank statements, ledgers, and financial accounts.

  • Assist in budget preparation and financial forecasting.

  • Support payroll processing and ensure timely salary disbursement.

  • Prepare and submit tax documents, VAT filings, and other statutory reports.

  • Collaborate with auditors and provide required documentation for audits.

  • Identify and rectify accounting discrepancies and ensure financial accuracy.

  • Assist in cost analysis and financial data interpretation.

  • Maintain organized financial documentation and records.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 4-5 years of experience in accounting or finance.
  • Strong fluency in English (written & verbal).
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (formulas, pivot tables, data analysis).
  • Knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, SAP) is an advantage.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team.
