Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Quality Assurance Manager to lead the Quality Assurance function across a flexible packaging manufacturing operation. This role requires a strong technical background in flexible packaging, quality systems, compliance, food safety standards, and manufacturing quality control. The successful candidate will lead quality execution across the production value chain while ensuring compliance with quality, food safety, customer, and regulatory requirements. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the implementation and maintenance of the Quality Management System (QMS).
  • Ensure compliance with ISO 9001, FSSC 22000, BRCGS, customer requirements, and applicable statutory regulations.
  • Lead external audits, certification renewals, and closure of audit findings and non-conformities.
  • Maintain calibration, documentation, traceability systems, and audit readiness at all times.
  • Ensure food-contact compliance and Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) standards are maintained across production facilities.
  • Escalate compliance and certification risks with appropriate corrective action recommendations.
  • Lead, coach, and manage QA Executives and Supervisors across all shifts.
  • Establish quality performance standards and develop team capabilities.
  • Conduct regular quality reviews, team briefings, and structured shift handovers.
  • Oversee quality control processes across extrusion, gravure printing, flexographic printing, lamination, slitting, rewinding, and pouch manufacturing operations.
  • Enforce first-off approvals, line-clearance procedures, and process quality controls.
  • Review and approve critical production jobs, food-contact packaging requirements, and special customer projects.
  • Manage incoming material inspections, supplier quality compliance, and certificate verification processes.
  • Oversee non-conformance reporting, root cause analysis, and corrective and preventive action (CAPA) implementation.
  • Investigate customer complaints, conduct root cause analysis, and support customer audits and site visits.
  • Ensure product release decisions are supported by accurate inspection records and Certificates of Analysis.
  • Maintain complete and audit-ready quality documentation.
  • Compile and monitor Cost of Poor Quality (COPQ) performance metrics.

Candidate Profile

  • BSc or B.Tech in Food Science, Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Polymer Technology, or a related discipline.
  • HACCP or Food Safety certification is mandatory.
  • ISO 9001 Internal Auditor certification will be an added advantage.
  • 5–7+ years of experience in Quality Assurance within a manufacturing environment.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of experience leading QA teams.
  • Experience within flexible packaging, food packaging, or FMCG manufacturing environments is highly preferred.
  • Strong experience in NCR management, root cause analysis, CAPA implementation, and quality audits.
  • Practical knowledge of extrusion, gravure printing, flexographic printing, lamination, slitting, rewinding, and bag/pouch making processes.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Ability to make quality-focused decisions under production pressure.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Strong understanding of compliance, certification, and food safety requirements.
  • Candidates with direct experience in the flexible packaging industry will receive priority consideration.
