Role Overview
We are seeking a commercially minded and analytical Assistant Manager – Business Planning to support investment appraisal, financial modelling, capital allocation, and strategic decision-making within the telecommunications industry.
The selected candidate will evaluate investment and capital expenditure proposals, develop detailed financial models, conduct risk and scenario analysis, and prepare business cases that provide clear financial insights to senior management.
Key Responsibilities
Evaluate investment and capital expenditure proposals using NPV, IRR, DCF, and payback analysis.
Develop and maintain financial models to support investment appraisal and management decisions.
Conduct sensitivity, scenario, and risk analysis on key financial and operational assumptions.
Prepare business cases, investment papers, and recommendations with clear financial insights.
Monitor post-investment performance and analyze variances against approved forecasts.
Support capital allocation decisions based on financial returns and strategic priorities.
Conduct market research, industry analysis, and competitor benchmarking.
Collaborate with Finance, Commercial, Technical, Operations, and other cross-functional teams to gather inputs for investment evaluations.
Prepare management presentations, financial dashboards, forecasts, and performance reports.
Identify financial risks, opportunities, and areas requiring corrective action.
Support annual business planning, budgeting, and strategic review activities when required.
Carry out ad-hoc financial and commercial analysis requested by management.
Candidate Profile
Part or fully qualified professional in ICASL, CIMA, ACCA, or an equivalent qualification.
Minimum 2 to 5 years of experience in investment appraisal, financial analysis, corporate finance, or business planning.
Strong knowledge of NPV, IRR, DCF, payback analysis, and financial modelling techniques.
Proven ability to build, review, and interpret complex financial models.
Experience in sensitivity analysis, scenario modelling, and financial risk assessment.
Strong analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
Ability to convert complex financial information into clear management insights and recommendations.
Strong written and verbal communication skills with effective presentation ability.
Detail-oriented, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities and deadlines.
Ability to collaborate effectively with senior management and cross-functional teams.
Experience in telecommunications, technology, infrastructure, or another capital-intensive industry will be an advantage.
Commercially aware, proactive, and able to work with minimum supervision.
