Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and highly responsible Master to oversee vessel operations, navigation, cargo activities, crew management, safety compliance, and operational discipline onboard.

The selected candidate will be responsible for ensuring safe vessel navigation, smooth cargo delivery, regulatory compliance, effective crew supervision, dry docking coordination, and professional vessel manoeuvring in line with company, maritime, and tanker operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage all aspects of vessel operations and navigation.
  • Take full responsibility for the safe command, control, and operation of the vessel.
  • Plan and execute safe navigation in accordance with maritime regulations and company procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with all safety, regulatory, port, flag-state, and company requirements.
  • Supervise crew performance and maintain discipline, teamwork, and operational standards onboard.
  • Coordinate standard cargo tanker duties and ensure cargo operations are conducted safely and efficiently.
  • Assist in cargo delivery and ensure proper coordination during loading, transportation, and discharge operations.
  • Monitor vessel condition, operational readiness, and safety equipment availability.
  • Ensure proper implementation of emergency response, safety drills, and onboard safety procedures.
  • Manage vessel manoeuvring during berthing, unberthing, anchoring, port operations, and restricted-water navigation.
  • Apply expert captaincy and vessel-handling skills during operational movements and port calls.
  • Coordinate dry docking operations and support vessel repair, inspection, and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure accurate completion of vessel logs, navigational records, cargo documents, safety records, and operational reports.
  • Communicate effectively with port authorities, company representatives, crew members, and relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor weather, sea conditions, navigational risks, and operational hazards.
  • Ensure all crew members follow safety, environmental, and operational procedures.
  • Maintain high standards of professionalism, accountability, and onboard leadership.
  • Report operational issues, incidents, maintenance requirements, and compliance matters to management.
  • Perform any other duties aligned with the role of Master and vessel command responsibilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 5 years of experience on foreign-going or coastal vessels.
  • Experience on vessels with capacity of not less than 10,000 GRT is required.
  • Proven experience in dry docking operations is required.
  • Strong experience in vessel manoeuvring, navigation, and captaincy.
  • Valid Certificate of Competency as Master for vessels not less than 10,000 GRT is required.
  • Completion of required Tanker Safety Course is required.
  • Valid Basic 4 Seamen Certificate is required.
  • Valid 2-year Seamen Medical Certificate is required.
  • Completion of Advanced Oil Tanker Familiarization Certificate is required.
  • Completion of mandatory STCW certifications is required.
  • Completion of Personal Survival Techniques certification is required.
  • Completion of Fire Prevention and Fire Fighting certification is required.
  • Completion of Elementary First Aid certification is required.
  • Completion of Personal Safety and Social Responsibilities certification is required.
  • Completion of Tanker Familiarization certification is required.
  • Strong knowledge of cargo tanker operations, cargo delivery, vessel safety, and marine compliance.
  • Excellent understanding of navigation, vessel handling, port operations, and emergency procedures.
  • Strong leadership and crew-management skills.
  • Ability to maintain discipline and operational control onboard.
  • Good communication skills and ability to coordinate with crew, port authorities, and management.
  • Fluency in English is required.
  • Strong safety awareness, decision-making ability, and risk-management skills.
  • Professional, reliable, disciplined, and committed to safe vessel operations.
