Role Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and commercially minded Senior Executive / Assistant Manager – Finance to support the Finance function in financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, cash flow management, and business performance monitoring. The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining strong financial controls, supporting statutory compliance, and providing financial insights that contribute to business growth and operational efficiency. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a finance professional looking to broaden exposure across financial operations, budgeting, reporting, taxation, audits, and overseas finance support within a dynamic export-oriented business environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports in compliance with SLFRS and company reporting standards.
- Maintain accurate accounting records, general ledgers, journals, reconciliations, and supporting documentation.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes while ensuring timely and accurate reporting.
- Assist in developing annual budgets, forecasts, and financial planning activities.
- Perform variance analysis and provide insights into financial performance against budget and targets.
- Monitor costs, expenses, overheads, and operational expenditure to support cost optimization initiatives.
- Assist in cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, and working capital monitoring.
- Process payments, receipts, supplier settlements, and financial transactions accurately and within required timelines.
- Support the preparation of management accounts and financial performance reports.
- Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and regulatory obligations relating to Inland Revenue, Labour Department, BOI, Sri Lanka Customs, Registrar of Companies, and other authorities.
- Assist in tax administration activities including VAT submissions, VAT refund follow-ups, and related statutory filings.
- Coordinate and support both internal and external audits while ensuring timely submission of required information and documentation.
- Collaborate with production, logistics, procurement, and export teams to collect and analyze financial data.
- Support financial operations of overseas entities and assist with related reporting requirements.
- Monitor receivables, payables, and other financial obligations to ensure efficient financial management.
- Identify opportunities to improve financial processes, controls, and reporting efficiency.
- Support implementation of finance process improvements and system enhancements.
- Prepare ad-hoc financial reports, analyses, and presentations as required by management.
Candidate Profile
- Part Qualified in CA, ACCA, CIMA, or an equivalent professional accounting qualification.
- Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline will be an added advantage.
- Minimum 2–3 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, or a related field.
- Good knowledge of Sri Lanka Financial Reporting Standards (SLFRS) and statutory compliance requirements.
- Experience in budgeting, forecasting, management reporting, and financial analysis will be advantageous.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, reconciliations, and financial controls.
- Knowledge of taxation, VAT administration, and statutory reporting processes.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and accounting software applications.
- Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Excellent communication skills in both English and Sinhala.
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team environment.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage deadlines, and handle multiple priorities effectively.
- High levels of integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
- Exposure to manufacturing, export-oriented businesses, or overseas financial operations will be an added advantage.
