Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Senior Merchandiser (Production) to manage assigned customer accounts, coordinate production-related activities, and ensure smooth execution of day-to-day merchandising operations within the apparel merchandise sourcing industry.

The selected candidate will be responsible for coordinating with clients, vendors, factories, wash plants, quality teams, and internal departments to ensure development and production activities are completed accurately, efficiently, and on time. This role requires strong merchandising experience, customer service skills, product costing knowledge, fabric and garment testing knowledge, and the ability to manage client communication with professionalism and urgency.

Key Responsibilities

Account Management & Client Coordination

• Manage assigned customer accounts and ensure daily merchandising activities are handled effectively.
• Communicate with clients regarding development, production progress, inquiries, and order-related updates.
• Respond to client and international office inquiries within the same working day.
• Maintain strong customer service standards and support long-term client relationships.
• Accompany clients during vendor and factory visits when required.

Production & Development Follow-Up

• Follow up on new development projects with vendors, factories, wash plants, and related parties.
• Ensure timely submission of samples, pricing details, and other client-requested information.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to resolve development and production issues.
• Provide weekly WIP updates to clients on order progress and outstanding matters.
• Maintain progress reports with updated information on all orders and pending issues.

Vendor, Factory & Internal Coordination

• Work closely with related departments, garment vendors, factories, and clients to ensure smooth execution.
• Coordinate with the quality department to ensure accurate handover of style files and required information.
• Ensure all style files are complete and properly documented before quality handover.
• Proactively update management on exceptions, delays, risks, or critical concerns.
• Work collaboratively with teams to identify practical solutions for production and order-related challenges.

Costing, Documentation & Systems

• Support product costing activities and ensure required cost-related information is accurate.
• Maintain accurate merchandising records, order updates, development details, and production documentation.
• Ensure all IT-related information systems are updated and used correctly according to client requests and group policies.
• Support reporting, documentation, and order tracking to ensure transparency and accuracy.

Candidate Profile

• Tertiary education, preferably in Textiles, Clothing, Business, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in merchandising, preferably within a sizeable apparel or sourcing organization.
• Strong experience in apparel merchandising, production coordination, vendor follow-up, and client communication.
• Good knowledge of fabric and garment lab testing.
• Good knowledge of product costing.
• Good customer service, negotiation, and presentation skills.
• Good command of English.
• Good PC skills, including MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and other relevant applications.
• Strong business acumen with a professional and proactive attitude.
• Ability to work independently while also being a strong team player.
• Strong sense of urgency, responsibility, organization, and integrity.
• Good interpersonal, communication, negotiation, and people management skills.
• Ability to work under pressure and handle merchandising issues with accuracy and professionalism.
