Role Overview 

We are seeking a talented and driven Senior Engineer – Data Engineering to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-scale data solutions that support business-critical operations and analytics. The successful candidate will work with large-scale data environments, modern cloud technologies, and distributed data processing systems to build high-performance data platforms that support decision-making and operational excellence. This role offers the opportunity to work within a highly collaborative Agile environment while contributing to the development of scalable, reliable, and innovative data engineering solutions. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop enterprise-grade data engineering solutions to support large-scale business operations and analytics requirements.
  • Build and maintain distributed and highly available data processing applications capable of handling enterprise data volumes.
  • Develop scalable ETL and data integration pipelines to support data ingestion, transformation, and reporting requirements.
  • Ensure data platforms are optimized for performance, reliability, scalability, and maintainability.
  • Implement and support cloud-based data engineering solutions using modern technologies and platforms.
  • Adhere to Continuous Integration (CI) and Continuous Delivery (CD) practices to ensure efficient software delivery.
  • Follow software engineering best practices to maintain high standards of code quality, testing, and documentation.
  • Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including Product, Engineering, Quality Assurance, and Operations.
  • Work within Agile delivery teams and actively participate in sprint planning, reviews, retrospectives, and technical discussions.
  • Apply DevOps principles throughout the software lifecycle from development and testing to deployment and post-production support.
  • Support troubleshooting, issue resolution, and performance optimization of production data systems.
  • Contribute to technical discussions and align team members on architecture, implementation approaches, and engineering best practices.
  • Continuously evaluate and adopt emerging technologies and methodologies to improve data engineering capabilities.

Candidate Profile

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or an equivalent discipline.
  • 3–5 years of experience developing enterprise-grade data processing applications.
  • Strong programming background with hands-on expertise in Python, Shell Scripting, and SQL.
  • Experience processing and managing large-scale datasets within enterprise environments.
  • Hands-on experience with relational databases, NoSQL databases, and distributed storage platforms.
  • Experience working with technologies such as HDFS, Amazon S3, and Redshift.
  • Strong expertise in ETL design, development, and data integration.
  • Experience with ETL and cloud data tools such as Informatica, AWS Data Pipelines, Glue, Lambda, EMR, Spark, and Hive.
  • Experience working with data streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis, Storm, or Spark Streaming will be an added advantage.
  • Exposure to API development and front-end technologies such as NodeJS, AngularJS, and HTML will be beneficial.
  • Experience working in Scrum Agile delivery environments.
  • Strong understanding of DevOps practices and modern software delivery methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience with source code management and CI/CD tools including GitHub, GitLab, and Jenkins.
  • Strong communication, collaboration, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to influence technical discussions and contribute to engineering strategy and implementation approaches.
  • Passion for learning new technologies and continuously expanding technical expertise.
