Purpose:

To support the effective implementation, monitoring, and continuous improvement of social compliance and health & safety standards across operations. The role involves coordinating audits and inspections, ensuring timely policy communication, driving training initiatives, and managing compliance reporting. As a key liaison between internal stakeholders and external regulatory or customer bodies, the position ensures proactive alignment with legal, customer, and organizational requirements contributing to a safe, ethical, and compliant work environment while fostering a culture of accountability and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, improve, and maintain all EHS-related policies, procedures, and SOPs in line with organizational objectives and legal and customer requirements.
  • Carry out companywide comprehensive hazard identification and risk assessment processes, update them timely, and develop relevant JHA sheets. Ensure implementation of all operational control measures across the company.
  • Ensure all machinery and equipment are tested and inspected as per legal and other requirements, with proper risk assessment sheets maintained.
  • Monitor compliance of third-party service providers and contractors with company EHS rules and regulations, issuing required work permits.
  • Ensure smooth execution of social compliance audits such as SMETA, SLCP, and other customer audits relevant to EHS. Follow up and ensure closure of all findings on time.
  • Implement, sustain, and continuously improve standards and practices related to Industrial Health & Safety, Environmental, and Compliance areas in coordination with relevant departments.
  • Develop and review all EHS-related manuals, policies, and procedures, ensuring proper communication to relevant employees.
  • Review all customer requests relevant to EHS requirements and respond promptly.
  • Conduct EHS-related training, ensuring employees are equipped with the necessary skills to perform their jobs safely, and complete the annual training plan on schedule.
  • Perform daily site inspections, raise nonconformities, and issue permits to ensure contractor compliance with company EHS standards.
  • Participate in and review customer audits related to EHS requirements, ensuring timely corrective action implementation.
  • Conduct accident and incident investigations, analyze data, and update findings in relevant dashboards.

Qualifications and Experience:

Educational Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, Business Administration, HR, or a related field.

Professional Experience:

  • 2-3 years of experience in a similar role is required.
  • Personal Characteristics / 
  • Behavior:
  • Profound knowledge of standards such as SMETA, SLCP, ISO 45001, or local labor laws is preferred.
  • A Diploma or Certificate in Industrial Health & Safety, Social Compliance, or related areas will be an added advantage.
  • Strong ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
