Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Head of Finance to lead the organization's finance function, providing strategic financial leadership while ensuring strong financial governance, compliance, operational excellence, and business growth. The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning, budgeting, reporting, treasury management, risk management, statutory compliance, tax planning, and overseas financial operations. This role requires a strong leader who can partner with cross-functional teams and provide meaningful financial insights that support strategic decision-making and sustainable business growth. 

Key Responsibilities 

Financial Leadership & Strategy

• Lead the company's financial strategy, planning, budgeting, forecasting, and reporting functions.
• Provide strategic financial guidance to senior management and support long-term business planning.
• Develop financial models, forecasts, and performance analyses to support business growth initiatives.
• Provide commercial and financial recommendations to support management decision-making.
• Drive financial discipline and accountability across the organization.

Financial Management & Reporting

• Oversee the preparation and presentation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports.
• Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting in line with business and regulatory requirements.
• Monitor financial performance against budgets and forecasts and recommend corrective actions where necessary.
• Analyze financial results, market conditions, and business trends to provide actionable insights.
• Develop and maintain effective management reporting systems and financial controls.

Treasury & Working Capital Management

• Manage cash flow, liquidity planning, and working capital requirements.
• Monitor and optimize cash management practices across the business.
• Oversee banking relationships, financing facilities, and treasury activities.
• Support foreign exchange management and overseas operational financial requirements.
• Ensure effective utilization of financial resources to maximize profitability and operational efficiency.

Compliance, Taxation & Risk Management

• Ensure full compliance with SLFRS, statutory regulations, taxation requirements, and financial reporting standards.
• Manage tax planning initiatives, including VAT refund processes and related tax compliance activities.
• Oversee transfer pricing compliance and associated documentation requirements.
• Support internal and external audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit observations.
• Identify financial risks and implement appropriate controls and mitigation strategies.
• Maintain robust governance frameworks and internal control systems.

Business Partnering & Operational Support

• Collaborate closely with production, logistics, supply chain, export, and commercial teams.
• Analyze operational costs and support profitability improvement initiatives.
• Provide financial support and evaluation for business expansion and investment decisions.
• Support overseas operations through effective financial management and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to strengthen operational and financial performance.

Leadership & Team Development

• Lead, mentor, and develop the Finance team to build a high-performance culture.
• Establish clear objectives, KPIs, and development plans for team members.
• Promote collaboration, accountability, and continuous learning within the finance function.
• Ensure succession planning and capability development across the department.

Candidate Profile

• Professionally qualified in Chartered Accountancy, ACCA, or CIMA.
• A Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3 years of commercial experience in a similar leadership capacity.
• Strong knowledge of SLFRS, statutory compliance, taxation, financial governance, and reporting standards.
• Experience handling finance operations of overseas entities or international business operations will be a distinct advantage.
• Strong leadership, analytical, decision-making, and strategic planning capabilities.
• Excellent negotiation, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
• Strong commercial awareness and business partnering experience.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
• Proficiency in both English and Sinhala.
• Strong people management skills with experience leading and developing finance teams.
