Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly accomplished and independent IT Consultant to provide strategic technology guidance, governance oversight, and advisory support within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role requires an experienced technology leader with a distinguished track record in banking technology, digital transformation, enterprise architecture, cybersecurity, and technology governance. The successful candidate will bring executive-level expertise and provide independent advice on significant technology investments, digital strategy, technology risk, operational resilience, cybersecurity, and emerging technologies. The ideal candidate will have held senior leadership positions within leading financial institutions and possess the ability to translate complex technology matters into meaningful business outcomes and strategic recommendations. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent strategic technology advice and guidance on major technology initiatives and investments.
  • Support leadership on matters relating to banking technology, digital transformation, and enterprise architecture.
  • Advise on technology governance frameworks, IT risk management, and cybersecurity strategies.
  • Provide expert guidance on technology modernization initiatives and digital banking transformation programs.
  • Review and assess significant technology projects and provide independent recommendations.
  • Contribute to discussions relating to technology investments, innovation initiatives, and strategic technology roadmaps.
  • Advise on cloud strategy, cloud adoption programs, and enterprise technology platforms.
  • Provide guidance on technology resilience, disaster recovery, business continuity, and operational risk management.
  • Support assessments of cybersecurity risks, security frameworks, and protection strategies.
  • Offer strategic insight into data governance, analytics, artificial intelligence, and emerging technology trends.
  • Engage with senior leadership, board committees, and governance forums on technology-related matters.
  • Provide objective and independent perspectives on technology risks and opportunities.
  • Participate in scheduled advisory meetings, technology strategy discussions, and governance sessions.
  • Remain available for consultation on technology matters as required.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 20 years of progressive experience in technology leadership roles.
  • Extensive executive-level experience within Banking, Financial Services, or another highly regulated industry.
  • Prior experience in senior leadership positions such as CIO, CTO, Chief Digital Officer, Enterprise Architect, or equivalent executive technology roles.
  • Proven track record leading large-scale digital transformation and technology modernization initiatives.
  • Experience engaging with Boards, Board Committees, regulators, auditors, and executive stakeholders.
  • Strong expertise in banking technology platforms and digital ecosystems.
  • Deep understanding of core banking systems and digital banking architecture.
  • Extensive experience in enterprise architecture and technology transformation.
  • Strong background in cybersecurity, technology risk management, and governance frameworks.
  • Experience leading cloud transformation and cloud adoption initiatives.
  • Knowledge of data governance, advanced analytics, artificial intelligence, and emerging technologies.
  • Strong understanding of operational resilience, disaster recovery, and business continuity planning.
  • Experience implementing technology governance and risk management frameworks.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline.
  • Postgraduate qualification in Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Professional certifications in Technology Leadership, Enterprise Architecture, Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk Management, or related domains.
