WE ARE HIRING: Chief Internal Auditor

Location: Colombo 03 (On-site)
Experience Required: Minimum 15 years in audit, with at least 5 years in senior/middle-level audit management

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly experienced Chief Internal Auditor to lead internal audit functions, ensure compliance, and strengthen governance frameworks. This strategic role involves planning and executing audit programs, assessing internal controls, and advising senior management on risk and compliance matters. The ideal candidate will have strong business acumen, independence, and proven expertise in the banking or non-banking financial sector.

Key Responsibilities

• Report directly to the Board Audit Committee and maintain independence in all audit activities.
• Prepare and execute annual audit plans aligned with organizational objectives.
• Implement internal controls, policies, and best practices for operational efficiency.
• Conduct audits (including ad hoc) to verify financial accuracy and operational effectiveness.
• Review compliance with policies, procedures, laws, and regulations.
• Identify and communicate significant risks to senior management promptly.
• Collaborate with external auditors and implement recommendations for improvement.
• Maintain strong relationships with internal teams, external stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; professional qualifications (CA, CIMA, AAT) required.
• Minimum 15 years of audit experience, including 5+ years in senior/middle-level audit management.
• Prior experience in banking or non-banking financial institutions is mandatory.
• Strong judgment, analytical skills, and business acumen.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.

Additional Details

• Work Hours: Monday to Friday (8:30 AM 5:30 PM), First & Last Saturdays (Half day: 8:30 AM 1:30 PM).
