Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Deputy General Manager – Operations to lead operations across a portfolio of industrial catering client sites. This senior leadership role is responsible for managing operational excellence, profitability, food quality, client satisfaction, people development, and compliance across multiple locations. The successful candidate will serve as the key link between the organization and its clients, ensuring operational standards are maintained while driving cost optimization, service excellence, sustainable growth, and business performance. This role requires a hands-on leader with extensive experience in large-scale catering, hospitality, food service, or manufacturing-related service operations. 

Key Responsibilities

• Provide leadership and operational oversight across multiple client sites and business locations.
• Champion company SOPs, work instructions, operational procedures, and compliance standards throughout all sites.
• Ensure consistent delivery of food quality, service standards, hygiene requirements, and customer expectations.
• Drive yield optimization, operational efficiency, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Manage operational overheads, manpower costs, and departmental budgets to achieve financial targets.
• Implement cost-effective menus and service solutions in line with contractual obligations and customer requirements.
• Monitor site profitability, margins, resource utilization, and operational KPIs.
• Minimize stock variances and wastage through effective inventory and material control practices.
• Oversee equipment maintenance, asset utilization, and operational readiness across locations.
• Lead workforce planning, talent development, succession planning, and employee engagement initiatives.
• Identify training needs and support capability development across operational teams.
• Act as the primary client relationship manager and ensure prompt resolution of customer concerns.
• Maintain strong client relationships and support contract retention, service enhancements, and business growth.
• Ensure compliance with GMP, ISO 22000, food safety, health, safety, and regulatory requirements.
• Support internal and external audits while maintaining certification standards.
• Prepare management reports, operational reviews, budgets, forecasts, and performance updates.
• Drive operational excellence while supporting long-term business expansion objectives.
• Coordinate closely with Finance, HR, Supply Chain, Procurement, and Quality teams to achieve business goals.

Candidate Profile

• Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar senior operational leadership role.
• Strong experience within large-scale Catering, Hospitality, Food Service, FMCG Manufacturing, or Operational environments.
• Proven track record of managing multi-site or multi-divisional operations.
• Experience managing budgets, resources, operational performance, and service delivery.
• Strong understanding of operational planning, cost control, productivity management, and process optimization.
• Overseas experience in a related industry will be an added advantage.
• Degree or professional qualification in Culinary Arts, Hospitality Management, Business Management, or a related discipline.
• Strong leadership, organizational, and managerial capabilities.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience implementing and managing operational procedures and quality standards.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and ERP systems.
• Ability to travel extensively between Head Office and client locations.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
• Ability to lead diverse teams and drive performance in a fast-paced operational environment.
• Preferred Age: 40–50 years.
