WE ARE HIRING: Senior Economist

Location: Colombo

We are on the lookout for a seasoned Senior Economist to lead fixed income and macroeconomic research. The ideal candidate will bring strong analytical insight, financial expertise, and deep understanding of economic trends to inform strategy and investment decisions.

Key Responsibilities

• Analyze and report on macroeconomic conditions, including forecasts and actionable recommendations.
• Drive the overall fixed income research strategy and contribute to equity research initiatives.
• Provide recommendations on fixed income instruments with regular updates.
• Deliver analysis on key financial events including CBSL policy meetings.
• Generate regular sector updates, corporate reviews, and quarterly earnings insights based on allocated research coverage.

What Were Looking For

• Master's degree in Economics
• Bachelor's degree in Economics, Accounting, Commerce, or Business Management (CIMA or CFA part/full qualification preferred)
• Minimum of 5 years experience in financial services, ideally in investment banking
• Proven skills in economic analysis, valuation, and report writing
• Excellent analytical and time management skills
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to work in multi-disciplinary environments
