Role Overview

The Executive – Payments Research Analyst will support the Payments & Treasury function by researching global payment trends, analyzing financial data, and assisting in optimizing payment operations and treasury performance. The role combines research, data analysis, risk support, and stakeholder coordination.

Key Responsibilities

  • Research global payment trends and analyze competitor payment models.

  • Analyze transaction data, payment volumes, and treasury forecasts.

  • Prepare reports and insights on payment performance for management.

  • Investigate payment discrepancies, exceptions, and support risk mitigation.

  • Coordinate with banks, payment partners, and internal teams on operational matters.

  • Support process improvements and evaluation of new payment technologies.

Qualifications & Experience

Educational Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree in Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Analytics, or a related field.

  • Postgraduate qualification will be an added advantage.

Experience

  • 1–2 years of experience in payments, financial research, treasury, or analytics.

  • Freelance or project-based research experience in payments/fintech will be acceptable.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong proficiency in Excel / Google Sheets and data analysis.

  • Basic understanding of the payment value chain (ACH, SWIFT, RTP, Cards).

  • Good understanding of financial markets and payment operations.

  • Excellent written and spoken English.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
