Role Overview 

We are seeking a highly accomplished and strategic Vice President – Equity Research to lead a high-performing Equity Research function within a dynamic financial services environment. This leadership role will be responsible for shaping research strategy, driving research excellence, delivering actionable investment insights, and supporting informed investment decision-making across equity markets. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in developing research capabilities, leading a research team, generating investment recommendations, and strengthening the organization's reputation as a trusted provider of market intelligence and equity research insights.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and set the strategic direction of the Equity Research function.
• Drive local and global macroeconomic, financial, and equity market research to support investment decision-making.
• Oversee the development, quality, and delivery of equity research products and investment insights.
• Provide leadership in generating equity investment recommendations and ideas across multiple sectors and listed companies.
• Analyze equity market developments, sector trends, and strategic investment opportunities.
• Provide senior management and stakeholders with timely market intelligence and strategic recommendations.
• Lead financial modelling, valuation exercises, discounted cash flow (DCF) analysis, and scenario evaluations.
• Identify and assess investment opportunities and associated risks through comprehensive research methodologies.
• Ensure the timely production of detailed company, sector, and industry research reports.
• Collaborate with Sales teams and external stakeholders to increase the visibility and impact of research outputs.
• Support research dissemination through traditional, digital, and investor engagement channels.
• Represent the organization at investor forums, webinars, presentations, conferences, and industry discussions.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing research team while fostering a culture of analytical excellence.
• Drive continuous improvement in research standards, methodologies, and analytical capabilities.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline.
• MBA in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field.
• Professional qualifications such as CFA, CIMA, ACCA, or CA (ICASL) will be an added advantage.
• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in Equity Research at a managerial level.
• Proven experience leading or managing research teams.
• Strong expertise in equity research, capital markets, and investment analysis.
• Advanced financial modelling and valuation capabilities, including DCF analysis.
• Excellent analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong understanding of macroeconomic trends, equity markets, and sector analysis.
• Exceptional communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable investment insights.
• Strong leadership capabilities with the ability to develop and inspire high-performing teams.
• Strategic mindset with the ability to identify emerging trends and investment opportunities.
