Role Overview 

We are seeking an experienced and commercially driven Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations and ensure the timely availability of materials, services, and subcontractor resources required for project execution. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating commercial agreements, controlling procurement costs, and ensuring uninterrupted material supply across ongoing construction projects. This role requires a strong understanding of construction materials, subcontracting practices, supply chain management, and procurement planning within a project-driven environment. 

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies that support project delivery objectives and business goals.
• Source, evaluate, negotiate, and manage suppliers, subcontractors, and service providers.
• Obtain competitive quotations and ensure cost-effective purchasing decisions.
• Manage procurement schedules and ensure the timely delivery of materials to project sites.
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with project teams to prevent material shortages and delays.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
• Conduct market research to identify new suppliers, products, and procurement opportunities.
• Monitor supplier performance against quality, delivery, pricing, and service expectations.
• Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, procedures, and industry standards.
• Prepare procurement reports, cost analyses, expenditure summaries, and budget forecasts.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization and procurement process improvements.
• Support contract negotiations and supplier agreement management activities.
• Work closely with Quantity Surveyors, Project Managers, Site Engineers, Finance teams, and operational stakeholders.
• Ensure procurement activities align with project timelines, budgets, and technical requirements.
• Maintain accurate procurement documentation, supplier records, and purchasing data.

Candidate Profile

• Bachelor's Degree or Professional Qualification in Supply Chain Management, Procurement, Logistics, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Procurement or Purchasing.
• At least 1 year of experience in a managerial role within the construction industry.
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, supplier management, subcontracting, and procurement processes.
• Experience handling procurement requirements for construction projects.
• Experience supporting large-scale construction projects will be a distinct advantage.
• Strong commercial negotiation and supplier management capabilities.
• Excellent analytical, planning, and cost management skills.
• Strong stakeholder management and communication abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple procurement priorities while working within demanding project timelines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and procurement-related systems.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to operational excellence.
