Role Overview 

We are seeking an accomplished and commercially focused Financial Controller to lead the Group's financial strategy, operations, governance, and performance management. This senior leadership role is responsible for ensuring financial integrity, operational efficiency, effective treasury management, regulatory compliance, and long-term financial sustainability across the organization. The successful candidate will provide strategic financial leadership while partnering closely with senior management to drive growth, enhance profitability, strengthen financial controls, and support business expansion initiatives. This role requires a highly capable finance professional with strong expertise in accounting, financial planning, treasury management, budgeting, reporting, and business partnering. 

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the organization's financial accounting, reporting, and month-end/year-end closing processes in compliance with IFRS and SLFRS requirements.
• Develop and implement financial strategies that support organizational growth, profitability, and long-term sustainability.
• Lead annual budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, variance analysis, and performance reporting processes across business units.
• Provide strategic financial insights and recommendations to support executive decision-making.
• Monitor and improve overall business performance through effective financial analysis and performance management.
• Manage treasury operations including cash flow forecasting, liquidity management, working capital optimization, and banking relationships.
• Oversee borrowing facilities, financing arrangements, and related financial obligations.
• Ensure effective management of accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash management, and payment controls.
• Drive cost optimization initiatives and identify opportunities to improve operational efficiency and profitability.
• Monitor inventory management practices and support working capital improvement initiatives.
• Strengthen internal controls, financial governance frameworks, accounting policies, and compliance processes.
• Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, tax regulations, accounting standards, and corporate governance requirements.
• Lead the implementation, optimization, and continuous improvement of ERP financial modules and reporting systems.
• Prepare and present accurate management reports, financial dashboards, and business performance reviews.
• Support audits, regulatory reviews, and interactions with external stakeholders including auditors, banks, and regulatory authorities.
• Identify business risks and implement appropriate mitigation strategies.
• Lead, mentor, and develop finance teams while fostering a culture of accountability, integrity, and continuous improvement.
• Act as a key financial business partner to operational and commercial teams across the organization.

Candidate Profile

• Fully qualified Chartered Accountant (CA Sri Lanka), or an equivalent professional qualification such as ACCA or CIMA.
• Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline from a recognized institution.
• Minimum 10 years of progressive experience in Finance, Accounting, and Financial Management.
• At least 5 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role.
• Proven expertise in financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cost control, treasury management, and business performance management.
• Experience within industrial catering, hospitality, manufacturing, apparel, or multi-unit operational environments will be a strong advantage.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS, SLFRS, Sri Lankan taxation, statutory compliance, treasury functions, and working capital management.
• Hands-on experience with ERP systems, financial reporting platforms, and business analytics tools.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial modelling.
• Strong commercial acumen with the ability to convert financial information into meaningful business insights.
• Excellent leadership, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Demonstrated ability to drive finance transformation, process improvements, and organizational change initiatives.
• High levels of integrity, confidentiality, accountability, and professional judgment.
• Preferred Age Range: 35–50 years.
