Role Overview

We are seeking a responsible and proactive Assistant Shift Manager to oversee night shift production operations and ensure smooth functioning of manufacturing activities. This role focuses on managing manpower, maintaining production efficiency, ensuring quality standards, and upholding safety compliance within a fast-paced industrial environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all production activities during the shift
• Ensure production targets, efficiency levels, and quality standards are achieved
  
• Allocate manpower effectively based on production plans
• Monitor machine utilization and report breakdowns or technical issues
  
• Maintain discipline, attendance, and punctuality of employees
• Handle minor employee concerns and escalate critical issues to management
  
• Ensure adherence to company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
• Coordinate with Quality team to ensure product standards and minimize wastage
  
• Enforce health, safety, and compliance standards including PPE usage
• Conduct safety briefings and report any incidents or unsafe conditions
  
• Prepare and submit shift reports including production, manpower, and incidents
• Ensure smooth handover to the next shift with proper communication
  
• Coordinate with maintenance, stores, quality, and security teams
• Act as the responsible officer during the shift and manage emergency situations

Candidate Profile

• Diploma or Certificate in Engineering, Manufacturing, or a related field
• Minimum 2–5 years of experience in a supervisory role within a manufacturing environment
• Experience in night shift operations will be an added advantage

Skills & Competencies

• Strong leadership and people management skills
• Good communication and reporting abilities
  
• Ability to work under pressure and manage shift responsibilities
• Knowledge of production processes and factory operations
  
• Understanding of health & safety (HSE) standards
• Basic computer skills (Excel, email, reporting)
  
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
• High level of discipline and accountability
