Role Overview

We are seeking a strategic and visionary Head of Learning & Development to lead the talent growth and capability-building function of a leading diversified conglomerate in Sri Lanka. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing and implementing talent management strategies, driving leadership development, and aligning training programs with the organizations overall goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the Learning & Development (L&D) division and drive organization-wide learning initiatives.
  • Develop and execute talent management strategies aligned with organizational objectives.
  • Manage talent management and succession planning programs to identify and retain high-potential employees.
  • Analyze talent metrics and provide insights to senior leadership for strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct training needs analyses across departments and design gap-based learning solutions.
  • Develop and maintain the organizations annual training calendar.

  • Oversee the implementation of the Learning Management System

    (LMS) and e-learning platforms.
  • Design and deliver induction programs for new employees and management trainees.
  • Collaborate with business leaders to create impactful, sustainable learning interventions.
  • Promote a culture of continuous learning, innovation, and professional development.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Management, or a related field (MBA preferred).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in Human Resources within reputable organizations, including 3 years in a managerial or assistant managerial role.
  • Proven expertise in Learning & Development, succession planning, and leadership training.
  • Excellent command of English and Sinhala, with exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to make data-driven decisions.
  • Experience using Learning Management Systems (LMS) and digital learning tools.
  • Strong organizational, planning, and administrative abilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership and team development capabilities.
