Job Openings Imagist

About the job Imagist

Job Description

Your job is to make sure our inspection image datasets are actually usable. If image quality is weak or coverage is incomplete, everything downstream (photogrammetry/3D model, AI analysis, reporting and ultimately customer satisfaction) gets worse. You will review collected imagery, spot problems fast, and give clear instructions on what needs to be re-captured. You will also create flight mission plans that align with inspection requirements and photogrammetry requirements—enabling our pilots to capture it right the first time.

This role is detail-heavy and standards-driven. You don't need to be a drone pilot. You do need to be ruthless about quality, coverage, and repeatable capture plans.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review collected inspection imagery and assessed whether it meets quality and coverage requirements.
  • Identify image quality issues (e.g., blur, wrong exposure, poor focus, glare, noise, wrong angles, occlusions) and document what's wrong and why it matters.
  • Detect gaps in image coverage against the inspection scope and define exactly what must be captured to close those gaps.
  • Decide and communicate whether a project passes, needs targeted re-capture or requires re-flight, with clear evidence and instructions.
  • Create flight mission plans that align with inspection requirements (what must be visible, which areas are critical, required detail level, etc.) photogrammetry requirements (overlap, consistency, viewpoint strategy, capture density, etc.)
  • Translate requirements into pilot-executable plans: flight paths / waypoint logic, camera orientation guidance, overlap targets and capture sequences.
  • Maintain and improve internal checklists/standards so image review is consistent and doesnt depend on personal opinion.
  • Collaborate with operations and field teams to reduce repeat issues and improve first-pass success rates.

Qualifications

  • Experience working with image datasets in inspections, surveying, mapping, photogrammetry or similar fields.
  • Strong ability to assess image usability and coverage quickly and consistently.
  • Solid understanding of photogrammetry capture fundamentals (overlap, consistent distance, viewpoint strategy, managing occlusions).
  • Highly organized: you can track issues, communicate fixes clearly and keep projects moving without ambiguity.
  • Fluent English (written and spoken).

Good to Have

  • Familiarity with drone mission planning tools and common capture workflows.
  • Experience with façade/building envelope inspections (or other structured inspection protocols).
  • Experience reviewing mixed sensor outputs (RGB + thermal).
  • Comfortable working with distributed teams across different time zones.
