Satellite Image Analysis Specialist
Overview
Seeking a skilled professional to analyze and interpret satellite imagery for [intelligence/environmental/agricultural/urban planning] applications.
Education:
Academic degree in Remote Sensing, Geographic Information Systems (GIS), Geospatial Science, Environmental Science, Geography, or related field
Technical Expertise:
- Multispectral and hyperspectral image interpretation
- Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) analysis
- Change detection techniques
- Image classification (supervised/unsupervised)
- Object detection and feature extraction
- Radiometric and atmospheric correction
Software & Tools:
- GIS Platforms: ArcGIS Pro, QGIS
- Remote Sensing Software: ENVI, ERDAS IMAGINE, SNAP (ESA), Google Earth Engine
- Programming: Python (GDAL, Rasterio, NumPy, Pandas), R
- Data Visualization: Matplotlib, Seaborn, Plotly
- Commercial satellite Systems Knowledge:
- Maxar (WorldView), Planet Labs, Airbus (Pleiades)
Professional Skills:
- Geospatial data processing and management
- Spectral signature analysis
- Coordinate systems and map projections
- Statistical analysis and validation techniques
- Technical report writing and data visualization
- Understanding of photogrammetry principles
Experience:
- 3-5 years working with satellite imagery datasets
- Proven track record of delivering analytical insights from geospatial data
- Portfolio of completed projects in the target area.
