About Our Client
Our client is an established organisation operating within a regulated and safety focused environment. They are seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety Specialist to support the ongoing development, implementation and maintenance of their Environmental, Health and Safety standards and compliance requirements.

About the Role
Reporting to the Quality & EH&S Director, the Environmental Health & Safety Specialist will be responsible for ensuring the organisation remains compliant with Environmental, Health and Safety regulations.
The role will involve developing and maintaining policies and procedures, carrying out audits, risk assessments and investigations, preparing reports, delivering training and liaising with internal and external stakeholders and relevant authorities.
Key Responsibilities
Health & Safety
Implement and update Health & Safety plans and procedures for the organisation as required
Maintain Health & Safety procedures and a comprehensive Safety Statement in compliance with regulatory requirements
Carry out risk assessments and identify measures to reduce workplace risks
Conduct Health & Safety investigations
Advise Managers on Health & Safety initiatives relevant to their departments
Keep up to date with new legislation and maintain a working knowledge of Health and Safety Authority legislation and developments affecting the industry
Support the improvement of Health & Safety culture through training and awareness initiatives
Environmental Compliance
Manage the organisation's compliance with statutory environmental regulations
Monitor current and emerging EHS regulations and develop strategies and programmes to ensure compliance
Develop and maintain EHS management systems and internal policies and procedures in accordance with standards such as ISO 14001
Develop programmes to reduce environmental, health and safety risks
Develop an in depth understanding of technical processes and methods used throughout company operations
Maintain knowledge of industry best practice in environmental, health and safety matters
Build an in depth understanding of EHS operational practices and implement new systems and processes accurately and efficiently
Evaluate processes, systems and equipment for EHS impacts
Work with site management to develop measures including risk assessments and Health & Safety plans to ensure personnel safety
Liaise with external authorities including the EPA, HSA and Local Authorities on EHS related matters, site visits, audits and accident investigations
Represent the organisation during external agency audits and inspections
Undertake any other relevant and reasonable duties associated with the role
Skills, Qualifications & Experience
Qualification in Safety, Engineering or a related field
Minimum 3 years' previous experience in a similar Environmental Health & Safety position
Good working knowledge and experience of Irish Environmental, Health & Safety regulations and legislation
Experience with Environmental Management Systems and ISO 14001
Key Competencies
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Word and PowerPoint, as well as Quality and EHS systems
Experience in report writing, auditing and conducting investigations
Excellent listening, written, verbal, presentation, training and interpersonal skills
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels and with internal and external stakeholders
Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a wider team
Pragmatic approach with good analytical, problem solving and results focused skills
Excellent organisation and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise business demands
High level of attention to detail and reporting accuracy
Proactive and positive approach, with flexibility and willingness to learn and take on additional responsibilities
Ability to exercise discretion and confidentiality at all times
Fluent English
Flexibility and availability to travel if required

Salary: €40,000 to €55,000 DOE
Work Model: Fully onsite
