Job Summary:

As the Pre-Sales Technical Lead, you will work closely with the sales team and clients to provide technical expertise, solution definition, and support to ensure successful project delivery. You will collaborate with clients to identify their technical requirements and develop customized solutions that meet their business objectives. You will serve as a technical advisor to the sales team and will be responsible for demonstrating the value of INNOVATE's offerings to clients. You will have access to our full technical tea m as required for technologies in which you need support. 

Key Responsibilities:

Overall Pre-Sales Process:

  • Collaborate closely with the sales team to understand customer needs and align proposed solutions accordingly.
  • Act as a technical advisor and subject matter expert during the pre-sales phase or have another technical resource available for this.
  • Provide guidance and support to the sales team on technical aspects and solution development.
  • Ensure smooth handover of customer requirements and project details to the implementation team.
  • Coordinate the pre-sales process from start to finish.

Customer Needs Analysis:

  • Work closely with the sales team to conduct thorough analysis and assessment of customer needs.
  • Gather and document customer requirements to ensure a comprehensive understanding of their technology challenges.
  • Assist the account manager with discussions with customers, remote or in person, to clarify and refine their needs and objectives.
  • Analyse customer pain points and translate them into technical requirements for solution development.
  • Identify potential upsell or cross-sell opportunities based on customer needs analysis.

Solution Development:

  • Utilise technical expertise and knowledge of networks, Azure, and infrastructure to design customised solutions.
  • Collaborate with the sales team to develop innovative and practical solutions that address customer challenges.
  • Evaluate and recommend appropriate technologies and products to meet customer requirements.
  • Design scalable and cost-effective solutions that align with industry best practices and standards.
  • Create solution architectures and diagrams to illustrate the proposed technical design.
  • Liaise with INNOVATE Partners on current solution offerings.

Technical Presentations and Demonstrations:

  • Assist Account manager to prepare and deliver technical presentations to both existing customers and prospects.
  • Coordinate live demonstrations to showcase the functionality and capabilities of the proposed solutions.
  • Address technical questions and concerns raised by customers during presentations and demonstrations.
  • Adapt presentation content and style to the technical proficiency and interests of the audience.

Proposal and Quote Preparation:

  • Gather and analyse technical requirements to create comprehensive and accurate proposals.
  • Assist the sales team in crafting well-written proposals that clearly articulate the technical design, benefits, and pricing.
  • Review and refine proposals based on your feedback to the sales team and other stakeholders.

Collaboration with Project Teams:

  • Provide technical guidance and support to project team during the handover and implementation phases.
  • Clarify and communicate customer requirements and technical design details to project team.
  • Assist project implementation team with technical challenges arising from quote.
  • Act as a bridge between the sales and project teams to ensure alignment and customer satisfaction.

Market Insight and Feedback:

  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and market dynamics related to IT services and solutions.
  • Continuously expand knowledge through self-learning.
  • Provide feedback to the organisation on market trends, customer preferences, and areas for improvement and highlight new business opportunities.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a pre-sales engineer or a similar role
  • Strong understanding of Networking, Security, Cloud Infrastructure, Communications, and Cloud Productivity
  • Demonstrated ability to design and present customized solutions to meet client objectives
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Ability to collaborate with multiple teams and stakeholders
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed
