About Our Client:

They are seeking a skilled and experienced Production Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of their workshop and lead a dedicated team of professionals.

Role Summary:

The Production Manager will be responsible for ensuring the efficient operation of the production floor, managing a team of 5 staff, and maintaining the highest standards of quality and productivity. The role requires advanced expertise in CNC machine operation and programming, comprehensive woodworking skills, and excellent people management abilities.

Key Responsibilities:

Production Management:

  • Plan and oversee daily operations in the workshop.
  • Supervise and manage a team of 5 staff, handling scheduling, sickness, and holiday cover.
  • Liaise with the design, cabinet-making, and fitting teams to ensure seamless production processes.

Technical Expertise:

  • Operate, program, and maintain flatbed Biesse CNC machines, including writing programs and performing tool changes.
  • Demonstrate advanced skills in woodworking machinery, hand tools, and general furniture manufacturing processes.
  • Conduct routine maintenance on machinery to ensure optimal performance.

Quality and Stock Control:

  • Monitor and control waste materials diligently.
  • Manage stock control, including goods in and goods out.
  • Ensure strict adherence to quality control standards across all production areas.

Health & Safety and Compliance:

  • Maintain compliance with all health and safety regulations.
  • Promote a safe working environment for all team members.

Communication and Coordination:

  • Act as the key point of contact between workshop teams and management.
  • Communicate effectively in fluent English to ensure clarity in operations.

Skills and Experience Required:

Essential:

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in the kitchen and specialised furniture manufacturing trade.
  • Proven track record in managing production teams and operations.
  • Advanced CNC machine operation and programming skills, specifically on flatbed Biesse machines.
  • Expertise in woodworking machinery and hand tools.
  • Strong organisational and people management skills.
  • Full clean EU driving licence.

Desirable Certifications:

  • CNC programming certification.
  • Cabinet-making certification.
  • Safe Pass and Manual Handling certifications.
  • Health and Safety training certifications.
