The Financial Accountant will work with the finance team to ensure the delivery of high-quality service to key stakeholders. Reporting directly to the Head of Finance & Operations, this role is responsible for financial reporting, compliance, budgeting, and internal controls while contributing to strategic financial planning.

Specific Duties & Tasks:

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and financial reports for group submissions.
  • Liaise with group finance teams to ensure alignment with reporting requirements.
  • Prepare annual financial accounts, maintain detailed audit files, and manage the year-end audit process.
  • Ensure accuracy of all statutory returns, including bi-monthly VAT returns.
  • Develop and monitor annual budgets in collaboration with management, tracking performance against targets.
  • Update and implement business policies and accounting practices, enhancing the finance departments overall policies and procedures.
  • Monitor internal controls to safeguard financial integrity.
  • Assist in providing cover for finance team members as required.
  • Support financial growth planning through strategic cost analysis and pricing models.
  • Develop an understanding of compliance within the Financial Services industry.
  • Prepare and submit information for monthly payroll processing.
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register.
  • Establish and develop relationships with senior leadership teams and external stakeholders.
  • Contribute to finance projects related to costing, pricing, and strategic analysis.

Skills & Expertise:

  • Recognised accountancy qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of 2 years post-qualification experience.
  • Knowledge of the Financial Services industry is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills with sound decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in financial reporting, budgeting, and statutory compliance.
