We are seeking an experienced and diligent Project Manager to join our team on a contract basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing and delivering a variety of ICT projects, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the agreed scope. This role requires a highly organised individual with excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, a strong understanding of project management methodologies (including Agile/Scrum), and a proven track record of successfully delivering complex technical projects. This is a hybrid role and while remote working will be possible, the successful candidate will be required to attend the office based in Co. Wexford, occasionally within a reasonable timeframe.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and manage the full lifecycle of ICT projects, from initiation to closure.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including schedules, milestones, deliverables, and dependencies.
  • Lead and manage project risk, proactively identifying potential issues and implementing effective mitigation strategies.
  • Ensure the quality of project deliverables and adherence to relevant standards.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, providing regular status updates to stakeholders.
  • Manage project budgets and ensure projects are delivered within financial constraints.
  • Facilitate effective communication between project teams, stakeholders, and business users.
  • Gather and assist in the definition of business requirements.
  • Work effectively within a team environment, collaborating with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Organise work priorities and manage time effectively.
  • Work with and assist in-house Scrum teams, demonstrating an understanding of Agile processes.
  • Maintain comprehensive project documentation.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate risk mitigation procedures.
  • Assist with the roll-out and continuous improvement of project management methodologies and standards.
  • Produce a range of project reports, including status reports, analysis of issues and corrective actions, justification of delays, and final project reports detailing results, methodology, quality assurance, deviations, problems encountered, and deliverables.
  • Contribute to skills transfer to client staff through methods such as documented procedures, work instructions, and on-the-job training.
  • Attend project meetings as required at the office in Co. Wexford or remotely.
  • Successfully complete other tasks as required to ensure project success.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum of eight (8) years of demonstrable experience in managing successful ICT projects.
  • Proven ability to deliver projects on time, on budget, and within agreed scope.
  • Strong experience in leading and managing project progress, risk, and quality to industry standards.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with business users.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Solid understanding of Agile/Scrum methodologies and experience of working within Agile teams.
  • Demonstrated ability to plan and manage the implementation of projects and identify potential risks.
  • Experience in maintaining detailed project schedules and documentation.
  • Proficiency in risk assessment and the development of risk mitigation procedures.

Desirable Experience:

  • Experience working on projects within the environmental sector.
  • A professional certification in Project Management (e.g., PMI, PRINCE2, Agile Certified Practitioner).
  • An understanding of current ICT technologies.
